Cloth Z

Enter a new character: this is Cloth Z, probably short for Cloth Zak unless another name suggests itself very soon. He is Cloth Q's more orthodox companion, probably responsible for Ecclesiastes 1:1 & 12:9-14. He probably saved Qoheleth's work for posterity by giving it an orthodox frame and so making it seem acceptable to good religious people who might otherwise take fright at Q's advanced views. Found in a cupboard in Barton-on-Humber, we offer a big welcome to Cloth Z, who will henceforth accompany Cloth Q on his travels.

  1. So glad that Q has a sane friend to keep him on the straight and narrow. Who could have predicted that cupboards in Barton on Humber could solve OT scholarship riddles which have baffled for centuries?
